Competitions
The Georgia-Carolina State Fair hosts many contestants each year with people from across the two-state area. Contests include Talent, Livestock, Sunburst Beauty Pageant, and Miss Fair.

Results of the 2009 Miss Fair Pageant
The 2009 Miss Georgia-Carolina State Fair was crowned on Saturday night at the Fairgrounds. She is Miss Lindsay Garrick, daughter of Lynn & Tony Garrick of North Augusta. Lindsay is a Senior at North Augusta High School. She plans to pursue a career in neonatal nursing. Her hobbies include water sports and volunteering.

By winning the title, she received the crown, a trophy, a bouquet of red roses, and a check for $750, and she will represent the Georgia-Carolina State Fair in the statewide competition in Atlanta in January 2010. She will also make many appearances in and around the CSRA and assist the Exchange Club of Augusta in its endeavor to make the CSRA a better place to live.

Lauren is the 18-year old daughter of Lynn & Dan Rickabaugh. She is a sophomore at USC-Aiken where she is a pitcher for the Lady Pacers softball team. She wants to become a college mathematics professor. As First Runner-up she received a trophy, a bouquet of red roses, and a check for $500.

Lacey is a 17-year old junior at North Augusta High School. She plans to pursue a career in nursing. She is the daughter of Alice & Len Ferguson. As second Runner-up she received a trophy, a bouquet of red roses, and a check for $300.

These beautiful young ladies certainly presented themselves well in the competition, and made the 2009 Miss Fair Pageant an excellent one.
Results of the 2008 Talent Competition
The 2008 Talent Competition was completed at the Finals on Saturday, October 25, and what a competition it was! the talent of those competing, in both the Youth Division and the Young Adult Division, is mind-boggling. It is astounding how talented and well trained these young folks are, and how incredible their stage presence is. We are fortunate to have them in our community.

The preliminaries were held Tuesday thrught friday evenings in the Theater at the Fairgrounds. The finals were held Saturday evening, with the Youth Division competing at 6:30 p.m. and the Young Adult Division competing at 8:00 p.m.

Here are the Winners of each Division, along with the First Runners-up and the Second Runners-up:
Pictured here is Austin French, the Winner of the Youth Division of the Talent Competition. He is 14 years old and a student at Crisp County High School in Cordele, Georgia; and he played a guitar and sang. You can feel the enthusiasm in every move he made. What a talented young performer!
Pictured here is the First Runner-up of the Junior Division a group from Augusta West Dance Studio, consisting of four 11-year olds Stephanie Verdery, Haley Grant, Megan Manning, and Taylor Ward. They performed a great tap routine called "The Wiz."
Shown here is Second Runner-up Miss Karli Durden, is a 12-year old from Stallings Island Middle School. She performed a very smoothe lyrical dance routine.
The Winner of the Young Adult Division of the Talent Competition is Ms. Hope Ham. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she was a featured baton twirler for four years. She performed a baton twirling exibition that was astounding, including keeping 3 batons in the air at one time. An excellent performance by a very talented young lady.
Pictured here is First Runner-up Miss Chavonne Brodie, a student at Augusta State, who certainly has great audience appeal, and well deserved for her wonderful voice.
In this picture is Second Runner-up Michael Broddie, the 20-year old brother of Chavonne. Also a singer, he clearly has the talent that runs in the family, and the audience loved him as well.
